I believe it’s a cross between Dipsacus sativus (Indian teasel) and our native, Dipsacus fullonum.

I would love to see if it comes true from seed.

DM me if you would like a few seed, happy to send some in the post !!

This style of woodland management always look very destructive but it actually increases the complexity of life in a wood.

……….Part 2 Following on from yesterday’s ..........Part 2

Following on from yesterday’s post. I received this lovely video from the client.

She is preparing another area ( via scarification) of the meadow, to overseed with Yellow Rattle.

One of our Missions at Teasels is

“To create sustainable landscapes and enduring relationships between people and nature.”

Today was a great example of on realising this mission.

The video shows a client , sowing wildlife seeds ( yellow rattle) in her meadow.

Susan instructed Teasels to design her Biodiverse garden last April.

Recently widowed, she wanted a greater connection to her garden and wanted the garden to become a haven for herself and wildlife.

She wanted the garden to “relax” and do away with her formal, rigid lawns.

As part of our consultation service, we have been holding her hand over the last year as she becomes connected to a garden in a deeper and more meaningful way.

She is noticing the beauty of the minutiae. She is reevaluating what is a weed and what is a plant.

Whereas before she might have reach for the weedkiller she is now seeing all plants as integral parts of the local ecosystem.
